*Giddy*

They are truly things of beauty - and quite a change from the retro furniture in your old flat - do the two styles sit well together?

I love the armoire, and the dressmakers dummy... I've always wanted an armoire, but I think we need higher (and not sloping ceilings) for that.

Rock on.

We got our bed off eBay - it's a corker. French upholstered sleigh bed circa 1900.
You are inspiring me to look at antique furniture on ebay rather than get any work done today. Evil!
Snags - Rock on indeed. Our next eBay foray will be beds. I'd like an old iron swirly one. Something like a 19th century French lady might of had. We need one for the spare room too.

Kate - I am giddy too and it's not the wax fumes!

RG - Our 50s/60s furniture sits really well with the Victorian. Just call me eclectic. I hate matchy matchy anyway. When we first viewed this flat everything was taupe and matched. It looked like a Next catalogue. Something to avoid me thinks. Glad you like the tailors mannequin, it was my indulgence from 'Caravan' in London.

Gamba - Gwan, you know you want to.
I think I'm just waiting for us to have a home with character before we buy any character furniture... much as I love our house, I think I've done what I can with soft furnishings and accent colour walls - without spending massively on £99 a roll wallpaper... no point, especially if we do move on soon. Chances are any new owners would just rip it off and repaint in Magnolia... and replace the lovely tiled kitched floor and oak parquet flooring with laminate!
That would be heartbreaking RG. I just know the pristine white walls we left at our old flat were going to be "coloured" according to the older lady that bought it. *shudder*
Exactly, so we're not trying to do anything too personal to this house.
Bravo! One more and you win my everlasting adoration!
I love the Victorian linen press! And the desk is looking lovey. :-)
